How do I check my image resolution?

The resolution of an image (whilst it might be 300ppi or higher at actual size) has no relevance until you know what size the image will be used in a layout.

In this video we explain the importance of understanding the most important resolution value - the effective resolution and how the pixels per inch can go up and down upon scaling.
